After the gas from the serpent statues clears the crew look around and make sure they are all alive and healthy. After a bit of healing they take a closer look at the larger dagger that was found. The knife is an oversized dagger, almost a shortsword (d6), grip wrapped in snakes, Cross guard is a birds claw, blade engraved in snake skin. Bill decided to hold on to that as his weapon for the moment.
They heard some noises coming form the south so made their way north. Checked out a few doors. one room had a Hobgoblin hanging from a noose and 2 giant 3 foot flies eating it. The team killed the 2 flies after one of them took a chunk out of Boomy's money maker. The Hobgoblin had 2 gems in a sack. Heading north and east the team sees another door. Boomy tries to open it but when he forced it open it made a crap ton of noise. Since no one was in there they all started searching while Bill stayed outside. While he waited he was approached by 3 angry Hobgoblins that were around the corner. Greg did some skull crushin' and the bear did some huggin' and fixed the problem.
Off to another room with a balcony. This must be where the hobgoblins were. Below the balcony was a room with rotted straw; skeletal remains of some great, unidentifiable beast; rotting corpses. 4 more giant flies attacked and almost killed one of the hires. Gregoire got a healing potion down his throat before he bit the dust and got him to crawl out of the way. The 4 flies were killed and below the balcony a cache of 4 pieces of jewelry was found buried in the straw in a bag. 2 necklaces with gems and a few bracelets.
Continuing on east the crew runs into some Lizard people that hissed and spat words at them. They said they wanted them to leave their sacred place or face certain doom! The 7 Lizard folk were ready with weapons and stand in a line protecting an altar. The first 6 had tridents and swords, the one in the back is unclear. The big stone tables in the room were flipped over in preparation for a fight.
