Session 7: Glutton for punishment!

day 5 and 6

In last weeks episode of the Stonerhell antics we left off in the room where they last met the Dwarf Snoori.  The escaped the Orcs and made their way back through the secret door.  They take a few minutes to catch their breath and make their way out of the dungeon.  The move the plank off the pit trap after crossing and hide the plank in another room to use it another time.

The weary adventurers make their way back to town to lick their wounds and think about what they got into. They make their way to the town of Ravensdale to clean up and sell their wares.  They sell all the items they pilfered from the Orcs but keep the 50 arrows they found for later use.  The Druid spends a while talking to the blacksmith about an item he wants made for him.  He wants a 13” round boulder/stone with some kind of handle or holes to hold it with (Think Bowling ball).  He has not yet divulged the reason for this but the Blacksmith said he can make it for 10 GP and it will take about a week to make.  He has a plan no doubt and his last trip to the dungeon was most likely the inspiration for this.

After spending a very long time perusing the shop and seeing how much equipment is available for purchase the adventurers decide that they have to wait until the next day to go to the dungeon again. That evening the adventurers hire two new soldiers to help. Hursus and Ullo.  Both out of work mercenaries looking for someone to pillage and plunder with. The adventurers finally make their way back to the dungeon early the next morning.
They head down the stairs and head back in the direction of the pit trap they found.  After some discussion of where to go from there the Orc and Druid have a quick look down a hall way they haven’t gone down yet.  He hears some loud chittering in one of the rooms and seeing that his compadres didn’t join him he backs off and heads back to the “Dwarf hieroglyph” room with everyone else.

The Thief decided to open up the secret door again and see if they can find out what the Orcs were up to or planning.  As soon as it clicks open the thief slips and it slams against the wall. BAMMMM!!! (Rolled a 100 on a sneak). The Orcs in the room jump up and say “Who goes there!” in Orcish. The Half Orc replies (Before they could see the adventurers)  ”We are just returning from patrol stand down!” That gives the PCs the edge they needed (for surprise) and they file in and attack.  After some back and forth fighting the new hireling Ullo gets slaughtered by a short sword to the chest.  The PCs keep fighting and finally take out the 5 Orcs.  They finished the fight and found around 100gp laying around.  These guys were gambling on the job!  The PCs remove the gong from the wall and drop it down into the Pit.
We stopped here for the night.  Since the PCs want to keep going, I wont tally up XP until after the next session.  We only really had about an hour of game play so we didn’t have much time.
